Katherina Reiche at German-Indian Intergovernmental Consultations in New Delhi
At the German-Indian intergovernmental consultations the Federal Environment Ministry's Parliamentary State Secretary Katherina Reiche met with the Indian Minister of Environment and Forests, Jairam Ramesh, and the Indian Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Farouq Abdullah. The two Ministers and Parliamentary State Secretary Reiche all stressed the good cooperation in the environment and energy sector and agreed to further expand this cooperation in the following areas:
- Low-carbon economic development
- Renewable energy sources

Energy recovery of wastes - Decontamination of polluted ecosystems
- International negotiations on climate, biodiversity and UN environmental reform
Minister Ramesh agreed to participate in the Petersberg Climate Dialogue II in Berlin which is scheduled for the beginning of July 2011.
