BMU Brochure:
Electricity from Renewable Energy Sources: What does it cost?
What are the components of the electricity price in Germany, especially for private households - and what share do renewable energies cover? The BMU brochure "Electricity from Renewable Energy Sources: What does it cost us" provides answers to these questions. The brochure which has just been updated is now also available in English.
With a share of around five percent in the household electricity price, the costs of renewables are in fact still moderate. Furthermore, renewable energies in Germany are by no means the cause of recent considerable increases in electricity prices. Under the heading "Why EEG costs are only half the truth" the brochure gives a brief list of the economic benefits of renewable energies (e.g. decreasing level of electricity prices and external costs of electricity generation or positive impacts on jobs).
