Developed as part of the project "Scientific support for the work of the Working Group on Renewable Energies - Statistics (AGEE-Stat) and AGEE-Stat office"

The expansion of the use of renewable energy in Germany has established the renewable energy sector as an important factor in the economy. In 2021, investments in installations for the use of renewable energy increased by 27 percent year-on-year amounting to €14.2 billion, and thus returned to the level of the years before 2019. Since a large part of the added value is generated by the manufacture and construction of these installations within the country, these investments are a direct benefit for the German economy.
